Traditional coaching approaches focus on 1:1 discussions, but there are many situations where a coaching process can be used with a team. Increasingly, team coaching is being used to help facilitate change within organisations.
Very often when coaching members of a team in 1:1 sessions, the same underlying issues are identified across the team members. In addition, the nature of the 1:1 process removes the individual from the very context which needs to be addressed.
We also work with teams to help them optimise the team culture or climate. What it "feels like" to work in a team is a crictical factor in motivating (or de-motivating) people. That motivation, in turn, determines discretionary effort and performance.
Team coaching, well facilitated, can have major benefits to the individual and can provide a highly effective method of organisation development.
